This Website is Dedicated to
Michael Anthony Almadova

Whiskey Mic was developed in honor of my late and dear friend, Michael Almadova. Mike and I were childhood friends who grew up across the street from each other in El Paso, TX.  Although he was my best friend for over 30 years, you can say we nurtured a healthy sibling rivalry, always busting each other's balls and challenging each other in all areas of our lives. But more importantly, we inspired each other through art, film, and music; always prepared to share our latest finds with one another.

It was devastating to learn that Mike passed away via an unusually early phone call from my mother in July of 2017. I later found out he died due to alcohol poisoning.  You never believe it is possible to lose friends at such a young age, let alone your best friend. He left behind a loving mother and strong healthy boy, who's basically the spitting image of Michael and is well on his way to being a young man. This website is also dedicated to them as well.  We both grew up without fathers and because of that, fatherhood was greatly important to both of us. So along with bringing awareness to the harms of alcohol, I'm also utilizing this platform to help young kids experience the joy of music both Mike and I shared.

I am thankful for the time we had on this planet, yet I still mourn the aspirations and goals my friend had for his future as a father and sound design artist. There were so many conversations we shared over drinks about our grand ideas. One of our dreams was to start our own video and music production company. The goal was that he would take care of the audio side of things and I would take care of the video side. Even though Mike has passed, I still intend to make some version of that come true. Michael left behind unfinished music, equipment, and software which I am thankful to utilize to propel this company into reality.

I created this website to honor his memory and keep our intended legacies alive. It is developed with the same passion and creative expression Mike personified in this field.  My goal is to continue the education of music production and sound design to up-and-coming artists, provide a creative space for working artists to engineer and collaborate, as well as simply keep Mike's memory and name alive.
